I have a bachelor’s in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s in English with a concentration in science writing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Plus, I am currently working in my spare time on a Master of Nutrition degree from North Carolina State University (I would be a student forever if education were free!).
Currently I manage the health and wellness educational platform WholisticMatters.com as a content strategist at Standard Process. In the past, I’ve worked in a few other communication and marketing roles in the health and wellness industry as well in scientific writing for various digital publications covering nutrition, genetics, immunology, cannabis sciences, and more. I have a knack for learning new brands/audiences and tailoring content to that audience. I am an editor and manager of editorial calendars. I thrive on making processes more efficient.
My Management Style
My approach to management – and teamwork in general – is to be as open and transparent as possible. I’m looking for ways to get things done, and done well – avoiding red tape instead of seeking it out. I manage my own list of priorities and expect my team to prioritize as well; I’m not the type of person to overexaggerate my stress or workload to feel more important.
My goal in a professional environment is to make the hours we spend in our jobs maximally productive and fulfilling. That being said, I’m also passionate about a healthy work-life balance, for myself and my team. I believe that making time for life outside of “the office” (in quotes here since so many of us work remotely these days) helps us be more effective, efficient, and focused when we’re working.
